    Once he earned a meagre Rs 50 for his performances. Today, the boy from Punjab is wowing the audience with his versatile acting. His incredible journey from performing on the streets to becoming an established actor was recently shared by the positivity portal The Better India. Sandhu fell in love with acting when he was just seven years old. He grew up in Amloh, Punjab, where he often used to perform in street plays. Like innumerable young aspiring actors, he dreamed of getting into National School Of Drama, but sadly, he didn’t get in. However, he did not back down and worked on his acting skills and earned a degree in Theatre from Punjab University.

    Sandhu stepped into the Punjabi film industry in 2015 with his acting debut in Rupinder Gandhi – The Gangster, where he portrayed the supporting character Bhola.

    However it was his performance as the character Speed in the 2015 film Qissa Punjab brought him into the limelight. Other milestones soon happened. He was cast in Deepa Mehta’s Anatomy Of Violence, a Canadian drama film which explored the events leading to the infamous 2012 Delhi gang rape incident. While he became a known face in Punjabi industry, he gained national prominence with the spectacular success of the 2020 neo noir crime thriller TV series Paatal Lok as well as the 2025 John Abraham-starrer The Diplomat. In 2020, Sandhu featured in the romantic drama Sufna, directed by Jagdeep Sidhu. His portrayal in the film received positive reviews from critics, who appreciated his performance and noted his growth as an actor. The film went on to become one of the notable Punjabi releases of the year, helping Sandhu gain wider recognition among audiences.
