The pilgrimage, which was originally scheduled from July 1 to July 30, had been postponed following objections from the local Dev Samaj and a safety assessment by a reconnaissance team. The team had flagged serious risks along the route, including glaciers, unstable boulders and falling rocks, posing a threat to pilgrims as well as emergency response personnel.

The yatra will now be conducted from July 30 to August 10 through the Tangling-Meling Khata-Cave route only. Online registration will begin on July 28, while offline registration will start on July 30. A maximum of 375 pilgrims will be allowed each day, with 175 slots reserved for online registration, 125 for offline registration and 75 through the Adventure Tour Operators Association, Kinnaur. Officials made it clear that no pilgrim will be permitted to undertake the yatra without prior registration.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for law and order, traffic regulation, medical aid, drinking water supply, disaster management and overall security. Personnel from the Police, Home Guards, Health, Forest, Jal Shakti and Revenue departments will be deployed at key locations along the route. Doctors, pharmacists, police personnel, Home Guards and other essential staff will remain stationed at various camps to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
