Around 100 people, mostly youngsters, gathered at Queen’s Walkway in Kochi, Kerala, on Tuesday midnight in solidarity with the ongoing protests in Delhi against the NEET question paper leak even as the political storm created by the protests in the national capital continues.
The protestors, many clad in black, joined a candlelight vigil following a call made through an Instagram handle named Azadi Kerala.

The youth shouted slogans and held placards bearing strongly worded anti-government messages. “You messed with the wrong generation,” read a placard. However, political leaders were absent from the protest.
The solidarity meet was organised after obtaining necessary police permission.
Similar meets are being planned in different parts of Kerala by various groups. A meet, titled ‘In Solidarity with the Youth of Nation’ is scheduled to be held at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam at 3.30 pm on Wednesday (July 22, 2026). Another meet has been planned at High Court Junction, Kochi, at 5 pm on Thursday by a social media collective.
Sources with a group said protests will be organised in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode as well on Thursday. “Already, around 3,000 people have expressed willingness to attend the Thiruvananthapuram meet. We are expecting a large turnout in Kochi and Kozhikode,” they said.
The Indian Socialist @100 State Committee collective is also holding a satyagraha at Gandhi Square in Kacheripady, Kochi, on Wednesday.
The Ernakulam District Congress Committee took out a protest march on MG Road on Tuesday night following the police action against party leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, in Delhi during the agitation.
On Monday, hundreds of people had assembled at Kacheripady Junction to back activist Sonam Wangchuk and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The gathering coincided with the CJP’s Chalo Sansad Parliament march at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
