Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez is set to continue Inter Milan’s proud tradition of representation in ever FIFA World Cup final since 1982.
In 11 editions, 21 Inter players have been part of a World Cup final, with Martinez also being the lone representative in the 2022 decider.
The tradition began in 1982 when Italy’s victorious side had five Inter players -- Giuseppe Bergomi, Alessandro Altobelli, Gabriele Oriali, Ivano Bordon and Giampiero Marini.
Until the 2022 edition, German club Bayern Munich also had an impressive run of successive World Cup final representation since 1982, until it ended this year.
