Soon after the final ended, Bachchan took to his personal blog to share his thoughts. The actor spoke about how every sporting legend eventually reaches a stage where someone else takes the crown and urged Messi to take comfort in the love he has earned throughout his career.

His note read, "The game… over… Spain the Champions and Messi lost… tears of emotion… sad… but the day comes for every champion… as you turn the corner, you find there are others better than you… accept the love that came your way… rest in that glory."

Later in the same blog, Bachchan shared a lighter moment from the day after posting a picture of a dog that had been carefully covered with raincoats to protect it from the monsoon before being brought to the Sunday gathering.

He wrote, "… and as for this Champion .. only in INDIA .. covered and protected from the Monsoon ..was brought to GOJ for the Sunday meet .. would never know what he was doing there .. Innovation thy name is BHARAT ..Love and now to bed .. it's almost 5:30 am of the 20th Monday .."

The actor also revealed that it was nearly 5:30 a.m. by the time he finally went to sleep after an eventful day that included meeting fans and watching the World Cup final.
