The June 22 edition of WWE RAW witnessed a shocking development, as Lyra Valkyria backstabbed Bayley following a title match. On this week's show, Valkyria debuted a drastic new look after turning heel last month.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were unsuccessful in winning the Women's Tag Team Championship from Paige & Brie Bella in June. Valkyria suffered the deciding pinfall and lashed out at The Role Model in a post-match segment. She brutally assaulted the Grand Slam Champion, marking the abrupt conclusion of their lengthy alliance.
After firing shots at each other in vignettes, the duo finally confronted each other on this week's WWE RAW. Interestingly, Valkyria debuted a new look on the program. She was sporting a tattered dress combined with smudged dark makeup. The former Women's Intercontinental Champion seemed visibly distressed and exhausted on WWE RAW.

Bayley called out Lyra Valkyria on this week's RAW, demanding an explanation for her actions. Valkyria showed up, but she wasn't in the mood to apologize. The Irishwoman labeled The Role Model a "doormat" and claimed that she was the least successful member of the Four Horsewomen.
The former Hugger bounced back by highlighting her career achievements. She also revealed that WWE RAW general manager Adam Pearce had booked her in a match against Valkyria at Saturday Night's Main Event XLV.
Valkyria was furious after the announcement and launched another attack on the veteran. In the end, the 29-year-old stood tall, making a huge statement ahead of her match against Bayley at Madison Square Garden.
On last week's WWE RAW, Bayley appeared in a pre-taped vignette. A visibly emotional Role Model addressed Lyra Valkyria's unexpected betrayal and discussed their storied history.
The WWE Grand Slam Champion said Valkyria had the option to mend fences instead of taking the easy way out and backstabbing her. She also gave the Irishwoman a chance to settle their differences on this week's red show.
Lyra Valkyria and Bayley will now collide in a major grudge match at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden.
