A fast track court constituted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has convicted a 34- year-old person for using abusive language and making vulgar gestures at a minor girl in Puducherry.

Judge M. D Sumathi has awarded three years of rigorous imprisonment and awarded a fine of ₹ 5,000 to Vazhumuni alias Vazhmooni, a resident of Koodapakkam in Villianur village. The punishment was awarded under section 12 of the POCSO act. In connection with the offence, a case was registered against the person by the Villianur police around two years ago.
