Manchester United have been dealt a blow as midfield target Manu Kone is set to prioritize a move to France, as per reports. The Red Devils are shopping for quality additions to their squad ahead of a return to UEFA Champions League football this season.
A report from Italian outlet Il Tempo (via TEAMTalk) has revealed that Kone is hopeful of receiving an approach from European champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. The France international is open to joining Manchester United, but will only do so if he is sure that PSG are not making a move to sign him.
Manu Kone enjoyed a fine season at AS Roma and had an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign with the French national team. The 25-year-old emerged as a target for the Red Devils, who are prepared to offer around £42 million for his signature this summer.
AS Roma want £50 million for the midfielder, who already has an agreement on personal terms with Michael Carrick's side in case a transfer materializes. Manchester United are one of several teams that have been linked with Kone, with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Al-Ahli also having been linked with a possible transfer.
PSG have made it their priority to sign the best French talents, and Kone is prioritizing a return to his native country after spells at Borussia Monchengladbach and Roma. Luis Enrique's side have not made any concrete moves to sign the combative midfielder, as they are currently focused on selling players from their squad.
Manchester United have already brought in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to beef up their midfield. They want to add a third name to the position, and are weighing up a move for Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba.
Manchester United star Joshua Zirkzee is open to moving to Serie A giants Juventus after an uninspiring spell at Old Trafford, as per reports. The Red Devils are preparing for the 2026-27 season, and the Dutch striker is looking for a new home.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee is a target for Juventus, who are keen on a revamp of their attacking unit. The Bianconeri are looking to sign the Netherlands international on loan while they focus on bringing in Randal Kolo Muani on a permanent basis.
Zirkzee has expressed his openness to move to Italy, having joined Manchester United from Bologna in the summer of 2024. He made just 26 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils last season, scoring twice and providing an assist.
