It's love, laughter and a new beginning for filmmaker Srikanth Nagothi and actress Swathi Reddy as the couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony. On Wednesday, the newlyweds surprised fans by sharing a series of pictures from their special day on social media. Captioning the post, "Hitched. 08-07-2026," the couple offered a glimpse into their simple yet beautiful ceremony.

The wedding appeared to be a private affair held at home, with both Swathi and Srikanth choosing elegant white cotton traditional outfits instead of elaborate wedding attire. The ceremony featured traditional Hindu rituals, with the couple seated on wooden stools placed over a handwoven mat. Swathi also kept her bridal look understated by skipping elaborate floral decorations and opting for a single flower garland.

One picture showed Swathi holding Srikanth's arm as he performed a homam, while another captured the two holding hands during a traditional puja.



Soon after the announcement, the couple was flooded with congratulatory messages. Actor Naveen Chandra, Swathi's Month of Madhu co-star, wished the pair, while filmmaker Nandini Reddy, actress Shreya Dhanwanthary, badminton player Jwala Gutta and several others also sent their best wishes. Fans, too, expressed their happiness, with many saying they were delighted to see Swathi begin a new chapter in her life.

Who is Srikanth Nagothi?

While many know Srikanth Nagothi as the director of Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna and Month of Madhu, his journey into cinema was anything but conventional. Before becoming a filmmaker, Srikanth told Hindu in 2023 interview that completed his MBA and spent nearly 12 years working in the corporate sector.

Despite having a stable career, his passion for storytelling eventually convinced him to leave the corporate world behind and pursue filmmaking full-time. It was a bold decision, but one that would later define his career.

Srikanth has previously shared that he and his childhood friend, filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, decided to chase their dreams around the same time. Although their first film project never took off, the experience became an important learning phase that helped shape their careers.

From corporate life to acclaimed filmmaker

Srikanth made his directorial debut with Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna in 2020. The romantic drama received positive reviews for its simple storytelling and relatable characters, helping establish him as a promising filmmaker in Telugu cinema.

He followed it up with Month of Madhu in 2023, a relationship drama that was appreciated for its emotional depth and mature storytelling. It was during the making of this film that Srikanth met Swathi Reddy, and the professional collaboration eventually blossomed into a relationship.

Years later, the two have now started a new chapter together as husband and wife.

Who is Swathi Reddy?

Swathi Reddy, popularly known as Colours Swathi, first became a household name as the host of the Telugu television show Colours, which earned her the nickname she is known by even today.

She completed her schooling in Visakhapatnam before moving to Hyderabad, where she pursued a degree in Biotechnology at St. Mary's College. After beginning her career on television, Swathi successfully transitioned to films. She impressed audiences with performances in movies such as Subramaniapuram, Ashta Chamma, Swamy Ra Ra, Amen and Karthikeya, building a reputation for choosing unconventional and performance-driven roles.

Her most recent film appearance was in Month of Madhu, the project that also introduced her to Srikanth Nagothi.

Swathi was previously married to Malayali pilot Vikas Vasu in 2018. Although the couple never publicly announced their separation, fans later noticed they were no longer together. During the promotions of Month of Madhu, Swathi chose not to discuss her personal life, saying she preferred to keep it private after spending much of her life in the public eye.
