A 26-year-old medical postgraduate student died after jumping from the terrace of a five-storey apartment building in Nagaram on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Dikshita, who had completed her MBBS and was pursuing postgraduate medical studies at Siddhartha Medical College in Bengaluru. She had returned to Hyderabad last week and was staying with her parents at their residence in West Gandhi Nagar, Nagaram.
According to the police, Dikshita went to the terrace of the apartment building on Friday evening and jumped. She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed while undergoing treatment.
During the investigation, police recovered a suicide note from the spot in which she wrote that she was unhappy with her life and mentally disturbed.
Based on a complaint lodged by her father, Anand, the Keesara police registered a case. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to her death.
