Students of Shetty Institute of Technology (SIT), Kalaburagi, had an opportunity to interact with engineers from Meta during an interactive session on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies and future-ready careers, organised in campus on July 8.

Samu Chakki, Hardware Systems Engineer and Post-Silicon AI Hardware Lead at Meta, and Suhas, Senior Data Engineer and Solution Architect at Meta, shared insights on cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, and the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The participants were introduced to real-world applications of AI, machine learning, hardware systems and data engineering. A major attraction of the programme was a live demonstration of Meta’s AI-powered Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, showcasing how artificial intelligence is transforming everyday experiences through wearable technology.

The speakers interacted with students during an extensive question-and-answer session, highlighting the importance of innovation, problem-solving, and lifelong learning in building successful careers in the technology industry.

Anirudh Shetty, Director of Shetty Institute of Technology, said such industry interactions formed an integral part of the institution’s efforts to expose students to real-world technological advancements beyond the classroom, and bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

Students and faculty members from various departments attended the programme, which focused on strengthening industry-academia collaboration and preparing students for careers in emerging technology-driven fields.
