The New York Mets lost for a fourth time in five games after a 6-1 defeat against the Philadelphia Phillies in the second game of the series on Saturday night.

The Mets are at the bottom of the NL East with a 41-58 record and are unlikely to make the postseason for a second consecutive year. With the Mets heading for one of the worst seasons in franchise history, several players are expected to be on the move at this year's trade deadline.

Two-time All-Star pitcher Freddy Peralta is one of the players linked with a trade away from New York. According to MLB insider Hector Gomez, the Milwaukee Brewers have shown interest in acquiring the Mets' ace.

Peralta, who was traded to the Mets by the Brewers in January, has a $15.5 million contract with Milwaukee. He is also attracting interest from the Atlanta Braves and the Tampa Bay Rays ahead of this year's trade deadline.

Peralta is in the final year of his contract and has a 4.66 ERA over 104.1 innings with the Mets this season. He was in the Cy Young race after posting a 17-6 record with a career-best 2.70 ERA for the Brewers last season.

Mets stalwart and veteran infielder Francisco Lindor is among the players rumored to be available at this year's trade deadline. Cross-town rivals the New York Yankees were linked with a move for Lindor, but MLB insider Jon Heyman dismissed the rumors.

According to Heyman, the Yankees are content with Jose Caballero as their shortstop and are "unlikely" to move for Lindor who is owed $171 million through 2031.
