“The Congress has completely failed in governance in the State. The government is yet to be fully formed in Karnataka and Ministers are diverting public attention by focusing on irrelevant issues,” Union Minister and BJP leader Pralhad Joshi said in Bagalkot on Sunday.

“There is absolutely no decision-making at the government level. There are not enough Ministers. Even big districts do not have district in-charge Ministers. But Congress leaders are not expanding the State Cabinet as their leader Rahul Gandhi is missing,” the Central Minister said.

“The State is facing serious drought conditions, but there is no one to listen to people’s grievances. No one knows if there is enough drinking water or fodder stock. But Ministers are diverting the attention of the people away from real issues. Law and order situation has deteriorated and the Congress is leading the State towards destruction,” he said.

“Home Minister Priyank Kharge has been talking about the RSS and riots. Rahul Gandhi had to apologise for talking about the alleged connection between RSS and the murders of Pansare and Kalaburagi. Priyank Kharge should learn a lesson from this,” Mr. Joshi said.

“Does Priyank Kharge remember what happened when the Congress was in power at the Centre and in most States? There was a red corridor from Tirupati to Pashupati where Naxalites ruled with guns. When Naxalites killed over 270 people in Dantewada, the then Home Minister P Chidambaram invited them for talks if they laid down their arms for three days. But what happened after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister? We successfully ended the Naxal menace around the country. The nation is Naxal-free now,” he said.

The Union Minister warned officials on ECI SIR duty against listening to Congress Ministers who may advise them to fudge electoral rolls. “I am warning all Tahsildars and Deputy Tahsildars. If you make mistakes now and if some person with an ISI connection enters the electoral rolls, then, you will have to face serious action,” Mr. Joshi said.
