Two alleged members of the infamous Himanshu Bhau gang, including a minor, were apprehended by the Delhi Police for issuing extortion threats to a businessman, said officials on Monday. The duo had allegedly come to the Capital to kill the businessman.

The arrested accused have been identified as Pradeep, alias Kaali, a resident of Jind, and a minor, a resident of Fatehabad in Haryana, the officials added. According to the police, the accused allegedly confessed that they were directed to target a businessman based in Rohini by Himanshu Bhau. The target had received extortion calls in March 2026, following which he was provided police protection.

The accused admitted that they had come to Delhi with the intention of murdering the businessman and had been provided weapons by local handlers of the gang. An FIR in connection with the extortion threats made to the businessman had already been registered at the Aman Vihar police station, Rohini, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Niharika Bhatt.

Bhatt added that the minor disclosed that he had received a call from Bhau through his friend Monu, who had absconded from India following his involvement in multiple murder cases. The minor mentioned that he had heard Bhau’s name several times earlier as Monu frequently spoke about him. During the conversation, Bhau told him that there was a job to be carried out in Delhi, which involved murdering a businessman. The minor said he was instructed to reach Jind.

Accordingly, he reached Jind and met the co-accused, following which another individual dropped the duo near Mukarba Chowk. Both accused reached Nehru Vihar and before they could proceed further, they were apprehended by the police, said an official.
