Morocco suffered its first defeat since 2025 after going down 2-0 to France in the quarterfinal of FIFA World Cup 2026 in Boston on Thursday.
The loss brought to an end the team’s 34-game unbeaten run, the sixth-longest such streak in international football.
Mohamed Ouahbi’s side remained unbeaten through the group stage, drawing with Brazil and posting wins over Scotland and Haiti. The Atlas Lions staved off Netherlands in the round of 32 after a penalty shootout before posting a comfortable win over Canada in the pre-quarterfinal.
Italy holds the record with 37 consecutive games without defeat between 2018 and 2021.
