The mortal remains of six tourists from Tamil Nadu who were killed after a boat capsized near Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island on July 11, 2026 reached the Coimbatore International Airport on Tuesday (July 14) before being transported to their native districts.

    The deceased were Senthil Kumar Jayavel of Dharmapuri, Muruga Prabhu Arumugam of Dindigul, Sridhar Sundararajan of Salem, and Shaikh Abdullah, Balaji and Alagurajan of Tiruchi.

    Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Maruthipriya coordinated the receipt of the mortal remains at the airport. After the required formalities were completed, the bodies were handed over to the families and taken by road to their respective native places for the last rites.

    Fifteen Indian tourists died after the tourist boat capsized in Vietnam. Of them, 10 were from Tamil Nadu.
