    Motorola Edge 70 Max
Motorola has confirmed that the Motorola Edge 70 Max will launch in India on July 15, days after teasing what it calls the most ambitious smartphone in the Edge 70 series. The launch date was announced through the handset's dedicated Flipkart microsite, which also reveals several key specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a Quad HD+ LTPO display, a 7,100mAh battery and magnetic wireless charging.

The Edge 70 Max will be Motorola's first smartphone to carry the "Max" branding and is expected to be positioned as the most powerful model in the Edge 70 lineup. It will sit above the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro and Edge 70 Pro+.

The smartphone is also expected to compete with sub-flagship devices such as the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R.

Motorola Edge 70 Max design and build

The Edge 70 Max marks Motorola's shift from its signature curved-edge design to a flat-edge profile. Official renders show flat sides, an aluminium frame and a glass back, giving the smartphone a premium appearance.

The rear panel houses a squarish camera module with a dual-camera setup, although Motorola has not disclosed the camera specifications.

Motorola Edge 70 Max performance and gaming features

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the same chipset used in devices such as the Motorola Signature, OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R.

Motorola claims the chipset can achieve an AnTuTu score of more than 3 million and will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM along with on-device AI processing capabilities.

The Edge 70 Max will also feature Motorola's ActivMesh cooling system with a 5,000mm² vapour chamber, which is designed to improve heat dissipation and reduce performance throttling during demanding tasks.

Motorola Edge 70 Max display specifications

Motorola says the Edge 70 Max will feature the segment's first Quad HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED display with support for 120 fps BGMI gaming.

The display will support a dynamic 144Hz refresh rate, the DCI-P3 colour gamut and up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. It will also be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Official renders show a centred punch-hole display with slim bezels. According to Motorola, the smartphone offers a 95.12% screen-to-body ratio.

Motorola Edge 70 Max battery and charging

The Edge 70 Max will pack a 7,100mAh battery with support for 90W TurboPower wired charging.

Motorola also claims the smartphone will offer the category's only fast magnetic wireless charging solution. The handset appears to feature built-in magnets similar to Apple's MagSafe system, allowing compatible magnetic chargers and accessories to attach directly to the device.

Motorola Edge 70 Max software and expected price

The smartphone will ship with Motorola's latest HelloUI, featuring a range of AI-powered capabilities.

Motorola has not announced the pricing of the Edge 70 Max. However, the company has traditionally priced its smartphones competitively, and the upcoming handset is expected to target buyers looking for a sub-flagship gaming smartphone.
