Cruz Hewitt revealed that his father, two-time Major champion Lleyton Hewitt, is beaming with pride after he made the final of the boys' singles at Wimbledon 2026. The 17-year-old's junior career is about to conclude in a few months, and he's making sure he goes out on a high.

The teenager is through to the final at the All England Club without dropping a single set. This is his first Major final as a junior. His father won the singles title at Wimbledon in 2002, his second and last Major title.

During a quick chat ahead of the biggest final of his career, Hewitt spoke to the tournament organizers about his father's impact on him and their relationship. His father has doubled up as his coach from time to time, thus playing a big role in his run here. He also revealed that the former World No. 1 is immensely proud of his success and how his career is shaping up.

Hewitt will now aim to emulate his father by capturing a Wimbledon crown of his own. While Hewitt Sr. won the title as a pro, he never made the final as a junior. The teenager will face American Jordan Lee in the championship round.

Lleyton Hewitt's son Cruz will take on qualifier Jordan Lee in the boys' singles final at Wimbledon 2026 on Sunday, July 12. The latter has progressed to the final on his Grand Slam debut, and has lost only set across qualifying and main draw matches.

Hewitt is the first Australian to reach the Wimbledon boys' final since Alex de Minaur in 2016. The latter lost to Denis Shapovalov in three sets. Both eventually tasted success as pros and became top 10 players. Shapovalov made the Wimbledon semifinals in 2021, while de Minaur made the last eight this year.

Luke Saville was the last Australian to triumph in boys' singles at Wimbledon. Hewitt will now aim to end the title drought for his country and follow in his celebrated father's footsteps at the same time.
