The Women’s Reservation Bill and the Delimitation Bill will be passed in the Monsoon session of Parliament, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said in Chennai on Friday.

Mr. Athawale told journalists, though both the bills couldn’t be passed last time, in the upcoming Monsoon session, they will get cleared with a majority.

He said that the NDA now had more strength in the House and since the DMK has exited the INDIA bloc, Mr. Athawale hoped, there may not be a problem to pass the bills.

He said, Delimitation is done after several years and now many constituencies are big and concentrated and it becomes important to implement it.

When asked about the concerns being raised that Tamil Nadu’s representation will decrease if it is implemented, Mr. Athawale said, it was a false propaganda. The representation will not come down but rather increase, he claimed.

Mr. Athawale said during his meeting with Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay he would give him a list of demands of the Scheduled Castes/Tribes, speak about the atrocities against the community in the State, and the need to give five acres of land to landless families which will help them come out of poverty.

He said, State Minister for Welfare of Backward Classes V. Sampath Kumar and Minister for Social Justice Vanni Arasu had met him and submitted a list of demands. Mr. Athawale is in Chennai to participate in the ‘Social Justice Sangamam 2026’ organised by the Republican Party of India.
