A 20-year-old girl student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from 16the floor of the A 2 block at SRS Royal Hills Society in Sector-87, Faridabad. After receiving information, a police team reached the spot and sent the body to the mortuary and later handed it over to the family after a postmortem examination.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Danvita, who lived with her family at SRS Royal Hills in Sector-87. She allegedly jumped from the roof between 11:30 am and 12 pm on Thursday.

During the preliminary investigation, family members informed the police that Danvita had cleared the NEET exam; however, the answer key was released online two days ago. Upon checking it, she found that her score did not meet her expectations. She had been under mental stress over this for some time, and she took this step due to that very stress.

According to the police, the family of the deceased originally hails from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and has been living in a rented house in Faridabad for quite some time. The deceased's father holds a senior position at the JCB company. At the time of the incident, her mother was away in Vijayawada, while she was alone at home.

Residents of the society said that she lived in Tower A1. Before the incident, she went to the roof of Tower 2. There, she first removed her slippers. She then placed her phone, wrist bracelet, and glasses on the roof's boundary wall before jumping off.

“A team from Bhupani police station reached the spot after getting information and completed the necessary legal formalities. A further probe is underway,” said the spokesperson of Faridabad police.
