New Delhi: A student from Karnataka has alleged major irregularities in the evaluation of her NEET retest answer sheet, claiming she received only 11 marks despite expecting a score of around 668 based on her own assessment.

The student, Bindushree Pawar from Hangal in Haveri district, said she appeared for the NEET retest at the Government First Grade College in Gandhipur after months of preparation.

According to Bindushree, she compared her responses with the official answer key after the examination and was confident of scoring at least 668 out of 720. However, when the results were declared, she was shocked to find that she had been awarded only 11 marks.

She has alleged that the OMR answer sheet released with her results does not match the one she filled during the examination and claims that her answer sheet may have been interchanged.

On July 22, Bindushree filed a formal complaint with the National Testing Agency (NTA), seeking an investigation into the alleged discrepancy. She also said repeated attempts to contact the NTA helpline did not result in a satisfactory response.

With no resolution so far, the student and her family have decided to pursue legal action in an effort to secure justice.

Speaking about the issue, Bindushree said she had spent the last three years preparing to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor.

“I worked hard for three years with the sole aim of becoming a doctor. After the exam, I checked my answers using the answer key and was confident of scoring at least 668 marks. But the result shows only 11 marks. The OMR sheet released is not the one I filled. I have been treated unfairly, and I want the Central government to correct this injustice,” she said.

She also urged the authorities to provide her with the original OMR answer sheet and called for stronger safeguards to ensure not only the prevention of question paper leaks but also the integrity of answer sheet evaluation.

The National Testing Agency has not yet publicly responded to the student’s allegations. The claims remain allegations, and no official findings have been announced.
