Minister for Industries S. Keerthana on Thursday flagged off bus services from Sivakasi Bus Stand to Sivakasi Railway Station.

    The new bus services was inaugurated in the presence of Virudhunagar Collector N. O. Sukhaputra.

    The Minister said that long-felt demand of the people of the city to have bus services to Sivakasi Railway station and Government hospital has been fulfilled now.

    Otherwise, the passengers were dependent on autorickshaws, two-wheelers and other private vehicles that led to additional expenditure.

    Ten trips would be operated on this new route in a day, she added.

    Sivakasi Sub Collector, Mohammed Irfan, Virudhunagar Regional General Manager of TNSTC, K. Kannan, Sivakasi Corporation Commissioner, Kannan, were among those who were present.
