A new luggage scanner and a door frame metal detector have been installed by the Government Railway Police at Entry Gate No. 2 the Tiruchi Railway Junction in an effort to strengthen security.
Adarsh Pachera, Superintendent of Police, Government Railway Police, commissioned the new scanner and the door frame metal detector machine. Prashant Yadav, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, Tiruchi, was present.
The luggage scanner has been deployed to check the baggage of passengers as Tiruchi Junction witnesses movement of several express and superfast trains besides passenger services every day.
Mr. Pachera and and Mr. Yadav inspected the railway station area, entry and exit points, and the closed circuit television unit control room. RPF sources said suitable instructions were given to the police personnel to ensure passenger safety and security of railway property.
