The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday (July 8, 2026) conducted searches at a house in Vinchipeta, Vijayawada, and seized digital devices for forensic examination as part of its nationwide investigation into an alleged online terror radicalisation network linked to banned terrorist organisations.
The searches, carried out at 20 locations across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Union Territory of Delhi, were part of the agency’s investigation into an alleged online terror radicalisation network aimed at establishing an Islamic state in India through violent jihad by propagating the ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and the Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).
The Two Town police had arrested Md. Rahamatulla Shariff and two other suspects, Mohammad Danish and Mirza Sohail, of Vijayawada in the case in March this year.

The police arrested nine other accused, including a juvenile and a woman, who allegedly maintained contacts with ISIS, AQIS and other banned terrorist organisations. Later, the NIA took over the investigation from the Vijayawada police in May. A total of 11 accused and a juvenile have been arrested so far in the case.
According to the NIA, Wednesday’s searches were conducted on the basis of technical analysis of digital devices seized earlier, connectivity analysis of the arrested accused and other investigation findings.
The agency alleged that the accused and their associates had been engaged in indoctrinating vulnerable youth across the country through violent jihadi content and misinformation, and were in contact with foreign handlers to propagate extremist ideology and further an anti-India conspiracy.
Investigation is on.
