Nissan India has launched the all-new Nissan Tekton SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the same platform as the Renault Duster, the new Tekton is manufactured at Renault's facility in Tamil Nadu. Bookings are now open for a token amount of Rs 21,000, while customer deliveries will begin on July 20.
The Nissan Tekton will rival popular mid-size SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Volkswagen Taigun.
Nissan Tekton price, variants
The new Nissan Tekton is available in six variants – Visia, Visia Plus, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna Plus. Prices range from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
Nissan Tekton engine options
The SUV is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options:
1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol: Produces 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol: Delivers 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission.
Nissan Tekton vs Renault Duster: What's different?
Although the Tekton shares its platform and overall proportions with the Renault Duster, it features several styling changes inspired by the Nissan Patrol.

At the front, the SUV gets a wider grille with twin chrome slats, slim LED headlamps and a full-width C-shaped LED daytime running light signature. A red accent strip runs beneath the headlamps, while the bonnet features pronounced creases and Tekton lettering. The front bumper has a dual-tone finish with LED fog lamps and a silver faux skid plate.
From the side, the Tekton retains the Duster's silhouette but gets newly designed 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, flared wheel arches and a silver trim insert on the front doors. It features conventional front door handles, while the rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillars.
At the rear, the Tekton replaces the Duster's contrasting black tailgate panel with a body-coloured tailgate. It also features C-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a full-width light bar, an upright tailgate with Tekton lettering, a roof-mounted spoiler and a dual-tone rear bumper with a silver skid plate.

Inside, the dashboard layout remains similar to the Renault Duster, but the Tekton gets a dual-tone rose gold and burgundy interior theme.
