The Dakshina Kannada unit of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) will actively take part in the postcard campaign under the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ drive of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradan over the NEET examination paper leak.
Talking to reporters in Mangaluru on Tuesday, NSUI District president Suhan Alva said that NSUI activists would visit colleges across the district and distribute postcards to students.
Through the postcard, each student would demand the resignation of Mr. Pradhan over the mishandling of the NEET examination and also seek a thorough investigation into the NEET paper leak. The students would sign the postcard and send it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.
Mr. Alva also said that NSUI activists from Dakshina Kannada would take part in Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ programme to be held in New Delhi in August.
As part of ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, the NSUI would spread awareness regarding issues related to education that need to be addressed at the national level. The NSUI national leaders would collate the issues and take them up with the Union Government, Mr. Alva said.
