The Railways will operate a weekly special train between Mangaluru Central and Chennai Egmore to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Onam festival.
A release from Southern Railway’s Palakkad Division here said Train No. 06126 Mangaluru Central – Chennai Egmore Special Express will leave Mangaluru Central at 4 p.m. on Mondays, from July 13 to August 31, to reach Chennai Egmore at 10.55 a.m. the next day.
Train No. 06125 Chennai Egmore – Mangaluru Central Special Express will start from Chennai Egmore at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays from July 14 to September 1 to reach Mangaluru Central at 8.40 a.m. the next day.
The train will have two 2-tier AC, eight 3-tier AC, six second-class sleeper, four general second-class and one each luggage cum brake van and generator car coaches.
The train has commercial halts at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur Junction, Palakkad Junction, Podanur Junction, Tiruppur, Erode Junction, Salem Junction, Jolarpettai Junction, Katpadi Junction, Arakkonam Junction, and Perambur.
