A Hisar court has awarded life imprisonment to a man convicted of the murder of Railway Protection Force (RPF) Sub-Inspector Munish Kumar Sharma in Uklana on May 18, 2020.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Jasmine Sharma convicted the main accused, Sandeep alias Bangru, a resident of Moth Luhari village, and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000.
Sub-Inspector Munish Kumar Sharma, who was in charge of the RPF post at Uklana, was shot while on patrol near the railway area on May 18, 2020. According to the police, the RPF had received information about a scuffle near the railway line. When Sharma reached the spot, three youths allegedly opened fire on him.
Sharma sustained a bullet injury and was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Hisar, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
