Sophie Cunningham is reportedly set to get her own shoe deal with Adidas this month. While many critics questioned the reported move, OutKick reporter Bobby Burack came to the Fever guard's defense, arguing that Cunningham had earned the opportunity.

Yahoo Sports shared the news of Cunningham's latest shoe deal on X (formerly Twitter), claiming she was set to receive her own Adidas PE.

The report quickly grabbed the attention of Cunningham's critics, with one believing the Fever guard received the opportunity because of "white privilege."

Burack defended the guard, arguing that she is one of the WNBA's biggest stars.

Cunningham is reportedly set to receive her own player-exclusive Adidas Crazy Energy colorway later this month, joining Satou Sabally as the only other player to receive the honor. The shoes are expected to release on July 24 and will reportedly retail for $120.

Sophie Cunningham has become one of the WNBA's most recognizable players, with the Fever guard building a strong following both in Indiana and on social media. Her popularity reached another level on Saturday after she made a surprise appearance at UFC 329.

Cunningham attended the event in Las Vegas and served as a ring girl during the co-main event between Benoit Saint Denis and Paddy Pimblett. Hoop Central shared a clip of her appearance on X (formerly Twitter).

The Fever star recreated her famous pointing meme with Max Holloway after his win against Conor McGregor.
