Paige and Brie Bella lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles to Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLV.

The two women had carried the tag gold for 91 days before losing it to Henley and Reid, thanks to a little help from faction leader Jacy Jayne.

Towards the end of the bout, Paige rolled Lainey Reid up for a pin next to the ropes, but Reid countered it with Jacy Jayne’s help, who was standing in proximity outside the ring. Brie and Paige have used a similar tactic to win matches in recent memory, but unfortunately for them, they were on the receiving end this time.

Fans had begun to love Brie Bella and Paige as a tag team even though the partnership emerged out of the circumstances of Brie’s original tag team partner and twin sister, Nikki Bella, being injured for their WrestleMania 42 match.

Paige took Nikki’s place, and the new tag team has had good chemistry and won over many a fan's heart. Paige has now taken to X to apologise to the fans for losing the titles. The caption read:

Match Referee Jessika Carr was in a good position to see Jacy Jayne’s interference from ringside to help Lainey Reid pin Paige, but the official almost acted as if she never saw it.

Former Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch has regularly ranted about Jessika Carr being the official who cost her multiple title matches. Paige threw shade at Carr too and said that Becky was right about the official in a tweet she posted on X after the loss. Her tweet's caption read:

With Paige and Brie Bella now no longer Tag Team Champions, it remains to be seen whether they will continue as a tag team. Nikki Bella’s inevitable return will eventually get the Bella twins back together. Still, in the meantime, WWE fans have grown to love the unlikely pairing of Brie and Paige, so it would be interesting to see if they get a rematch for the tag titles or go their separate ways.
