Getting your Pals to work in Palworld is one of the best ways to farm crafting and food materials. But just like your character's sustenance needs, you will need to be mindful of your Pals' (both party and base) health and sustenance to keep the production rate of your bases optimal. Other than food, one of the first stats you need to check regularly is SAN (sanity). If your Pal's SAN drops to zero, it will stop working until you cure it of all ailments.

In this guide, we will break down how you can keep your Pals' SAN levels stable in Palworld.

To improve the SAN (sanity) of your Pals and keep it stable, you will need to do the following:

After building a Base and assigning Pals for tasks, you must build Pal Beds equal to the number of Pals you have in your base.

This will allow Pals to sleep and regain lost SAN during the daytime. Currently there are five different types of Pal Beds you can build in Palworld.

Feeding your Base Pals is necessary to keep them happy and maintain their SAN levels. To do this optimally, you will need to set up a Feed Box and fill it up with food.

Your base Pals will automatically feed themselves whenever they are hungry. Once you have enough resources, you can upgrade to the Cold Feed Box and assign a Pal with Cooling Work Suitability. This will stop your food from spoiling.

Craft Hot Springs to gain a SAN Recovery rate of +(0.5-2) SAN per second. This will give your Pals a speedy recovery whenever their sanity starts to drop. Having multiple Hot Springs is recommended for a high-production base.

If the SAN levels of your Pals drop to zero, they might get sick or injured. Crafting a Clinic and Medicine Rack is crucial once you have built a large base. Assign a Pal to the Clinic to significantly lower the SAN depletion rate and prevent illness and injury. Additionally, craft medicines and store them in the Medicine Rack. This will allow your Pals to automatically take medicines and cure themselves.

Best medicines for your base Pals:

Crafting an Alpha Wave Generator can significantly lower the SAN depletion rate of your base Pals. It is fairly cheap to craft, making it an optimal option. You can unlock this device in the Technology Tree at Level 41.

You can give the following foods to your Pals to lower their SAN depletion rate:

Shroomer Noct's Partner Skill allows it to slow the rate at which the SAN of your base Pals depletes by 10%. Since this Pal is capable of Planting, Lumbering, Gathering, and Handiwork, you can easily integrate it into your base, especially if you use Skillbooks.

Here are the passive skills you should target for all of your base Pals:

    Heart of the Immovable King

    Hermit Sage

    Workaholic

    Positive Thinker
