Police nabbed an overloaded tipper truck without valid documents, violating traffic rules and placed a challan of Rs 1.24 lakhs, besides impounding the vehicle.

On July 7, DCP Crime & Traffic Amrinder Singh was passing through the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) area in his official vehicle, when he noticed an overloaded tipper.

Suspecting a traffic violation, he immediately called the traffic police team to the spot and stopped the truck for inspection.

During the check, the driver failed to produce the required valid documents and several traffic rule violations were found.

The traffic police issued a Rs 32,000 challan on the spot.

After initial action, the matter was reported to the Regional Transport Office (RTO).

The RTO team inspected the vehicle and imposed an additional Rs 92,000 challan for various violations under transport rules.

The overloaded tipper was issued a total challan of Rs 1.24 lakh and was impounded.

Cops mention that overloaded vehicles pose a serious threat to road safety and also damage public roads. “Such strict action against traffic violators will continue in the future. Vehicle owners and drivers to carry all valid documents, avoid overloading their vehicles, and strictly follow traffic rules to ensure safe and smooth traffic movement,” added the police.
