The Opposition, on its part, has kept Pradhan’s resignation as a pre-condition, terming it as non-negotiable.

Earlier in the morning when the Lok Sabha assembled for the day, Speaker Om Birla said the Opposition would be allowed to take up any issue after the question hour. However, as the MPs of the Congress-led Opposition entered the well of the House and raised slogans and banners, seeking Pradhan’s resignation, Birla adjourned the House till 12 pm.

At 12 pm when the House reassembled, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the government was ready to discuss the NEET paper leak issue and even similar cases of paper leaks in various states.

However, he alleged that the Opposition was putting forth fresh pre-conditions whenever situation for talks was arising. He said the Opposition was trying to run away from discussion on the matter by doing so.

Amid continued protests by the Opposition, the Lok Sabha was again adjourned till 2 pm.

At 2 pm, BJP MP Dilip Saikia, who was presiding over the proceedings, adjourned the House till July 24 as opposition parties like the Congress, Samajwadi Party and the Shiv Sena, continued to protest in the well.

The Rajya Sabha proceedings were also adjourned for the day amid noisy protests by the opposition members.
