Each new League in Path of Exile adds an introductory quest to get everyone familiar with its mechanics. For Curse of the Allflame, it’s the Maiden Voyage where Val will take you on your first underwater journey. While you won’t be digging up Divines early on, you can get a good amount of starter gear.

Additionally, the quest will also introduce you to Allflame crafting, which isn’t that complicated and is extremely useful in the early game. Here’s the complete walkthrough for the Maiden Voyage quest in Path of Exile.

Upon entering the Coast and making your way towards the Mud Flats, you’ll come across Valerie. Impressed by your skills, she’ll invite you to the Sovereign. There, she explains more about her journey and hands you a Chart to explore the underwater depths. Before anything, we recommend you talk to Val and activate the option to automatically place the Allflame Lanterns.

Using the Chart will power up the Bathysphere that’ll take you to the Fathomless Depths. The area is surrounded by water, and you need to use the Allflame Lanterns to explore further. Upon reaching the edge, place the lantern to reveal more underwater space. Do note that once you place all six lanterns, they’ll start to fade and the area will get flooded again. Head back to the Bathysphere and return to the ship.

Besides removing the water, the Allflame Lanterns also collect Dead Man’s Sulphur. Once you’re back, pick it up and head below deck to meet Val. She’ll hand you a few items, which you can use in the Allflame Forge to get multiple outcomes to choose from.

After the first Chart, Val will ask you to complete a few more to prepare for a Voyage. Once done, you’ll see the new option when talking to her that lets you place the completed Charts to create a map. Each piece will add modifiers to the Voyage. Once done, use the Bathysphere to travel to the Fathomless Depths once again.

This time, however, you can see the entire map. The number of Allflame Lanterns is also much higher than in the regular Chart. The task is simple: explore the area and collect the loot. Once you’re done, head back to the starting location and call down the Bathysphere. It’ll take a while to come down, and in the meantime,m you need to survive enemy onslaught.

Upon reaching the Sovereign, talk to Valerie to complete the quest. If you sent loot to the ship using the Allflame Capsule, it’ll be inside the loot chest near Val’s Table.
