Patrik Laine is still unsigned after his contract with the Montreal Canadiens expired this summer, making him one of the top free agents still available on the open market.

With his future up in the air, Laine’s wife, Jordan Leigh, just dropped a pretty interesting hint about where the 28-year-old Finnish winger might end up next. Now looking for a fresh start with a new team, Laine’s next destination became the subject of a recent Instagram Q&A.

When a fan asked Jordan where she believes Patrik Laine could end up playing next, she didn’t name a specific club but offered a clear tease pointing toward Washington, D.C.:

Patrik Laine's tenure with the Habs didn't turn out to be what he was expecting after being cleared by the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. It was short and frustrating. A core muscle injury in October sidelined him for most of the season, limiting him to only five regular-season games.

Patrik Laine joined the practice in mid-January, two months after the injury he sustained in October. During the locker room cleanout presser last month, Laine reflected on the season and said:
