The WWE Intercontinental Title picture just got exciting. On tonight's episode of RAW, a Gauntlet match is scheduled to determine the #1 contender for Penta's Championship at SummerSlam.

Chad Gable, Je'Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Ethan Page, Dominik Mysterio, Joe Hendry, and Rusev are set to battle it out to earn the right to face Penta at the Biggest Party of the Summer in August. Some of the men featuring in tonight's Gauntlet match were part of the six-man ladder match for the title at WrestleMania 42, which Penta won and defended on the night.

The Intercontinental Title division has recently seen a mix of stars, including veteran grapplers like Rusev and high-flyers like Dragon Lee and Je'Von Evans. The inclusion of technical wrestlers like Chad Gable and Joe Hendry makes the division exciting to follow.

Tonight's match could see several different finishes. In this article, we explore 4 possible finishes from the Gauntlet match.

Chad Gable has recently turned babyface and has a new theme song and a new catchphrase, "keep on running". It's highly possible that Gable is an early entrant in the Gauntlet match and manages to pin everyone else except the heelish Ethan Page, who could come in last to thwart his chances at going to his hometown of Minnesota for a shot at the IC Title.

Page, who has already made an impact since he debuted on the main roster a number of weeks ago, could use all of his shrewdness and smartness to put away a weakened Gable and earn his shot at Penta's title in what could end up being one of the biggest matches of his career on one of the grandest stages.

#3. Je'Von Evans goes all the way

Je'Von Evans has been wrestling regularly on WWE TV. The high-flying Young OG is no stranger to punishment, as his moves are among the riskiest in most wrestlers' move sets on the roster.

Evans has been in the Intercontinental Title picture for a while now and even had some iconic moments in the six-man WrestleMania 42 ladder match, one of which was landing an OG cutter on Rusev when the Bulgarian Brute was midway up the ladder.

Evans could come into the match somewhere in the middle and could go on to win it, proving himself a worthy challenger for the talented Penta and punching his ticket to the Biggest Party of the Summer.

#2. Rusev gets eliminated last by Chad Gable

Rusev is arguably the most dominant among the men in contention in the Gauntlet match. The Bulgarian Brute has even gone up against Oba Femi a few weeks ago, and he's known to wipe out multiple wrestlers at a stretch, as was evidenced by his ambush on multiple wrestlers in the IC Title division on RAW some weeks ago.

Rusev could showcase his dominance by pinning multiple stars in the bout tonight after he enters, but Chad Gable could come in last and land multiple German suplexes and put him away with an anklelock. Gable winning will help him go to his hometown of Minnesota and contest for his first-ever WWE singles Title at SummerSlam in front of his friends and family.

#1. Ethan Page turns on Rusev to win the match

If WWE decides to take the route of a heel winning the bout, an interesting dynamic to explore is Ethan Page vs. Rusev. Page and Rusev have been working as a tag team of late, but will be against each other in the Gauntlet match. Unlike babyfaces who struggle with morality when going up against their friend or tag team partner, this pairing between Rusev and Page could be strictly transactional, and any "friendship" could go out the window if they face each other at some point during tonight's match.

If this were to happen, and the two are the last ones left, Page's brain may end up giving him the advantage over Rusev's brawn. All Ego could come up with multiple ways to put Rusev away by tricking him into thinking they are still buddies.

Multiple finishes can emerge from the Gauntlet match tonight, but some side notes of things that could happen during the match that could affect some participants are Danhausen cursing Dominik Mysterio as part of his ongoing feud with Mysterio and JD McDonagh of Judgment Day, and Joe Hendry, who will have to look over his shoulder to see if Austin Theory of the Vision, whom he's been feuding with, is going to cost him the match.

The stage is set for a major #1 contender's Gauntlet match, which could be anyone's game, and WWE's creative team needs to come up with a finish that is both satisfying and logical heading into one of the biggest events of the year.
