Jelena Ostapenko recently gave fans a glimpse of her sunny vacation at home in Latvia. The WTA star donned a blue bikini and mesh cover-up for her outing, making the most of her time away from the tennis courts.

Ostapenko was last seen in action at the Wimbledon Championships, where she enjoyed a phenomenal campaign. The 29-year-old kicked off her time in London with an appearance in the women's singles event, where she outdid Harriet Dart and Antonia Ruzic before falling short against World No. Aryna Sabalenka. She then competed in the women's doubles event, where she made it to the round of 16 with partner Sofia Kenin. Ostapenko’s best run came in the mixed doubles event, where she stormed to a title finish alongside Marcelo Arevalo.

Now, after the triumphant end to her grass season, Jelena Ostapenko is taking some time away from tennis before the hard court swing. She recently enjoyed a lakeside outing at home in Latvia and shared pictures from her trip on Instagram, writing,

Ostapenko was born and raised in Riga, Latvia to parents in Jevgēnijs Ostapenko and Jeļena Jakovļeva. Over the course of her career, the Grand Slam champion has continued to train on home ground in between tournaments.

After enjoying her well-deserved break from tennis, Jelena Ostapenko will return to competitive action at the 2026 National Bank Open. The WTA 1000 event takes place between August 2 and 13 at the Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, Canada. Joining the Latvian at the tournament will be almost the entirety of the WTA Top 10, including Grand Slam champions Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and more. The only Top 10 player missing the event is Victoria Mboko.

Ostapenko has previously competed at the National Bank Open nine times, and has failed to make it past the round of 16 in any of these appearances. Her most recent outing at the tournament took place in 2025, when she was ousted in the third round by four-time Major winner Naomi Osaka.

Overall, Jelena Ostapenko has enjoyed a strong 2026 season. On the singles end of things, her best performances include semi-finals appearances at the Qatar Open and the Lexus Eastbourne Open, as well as quarterfinal finishes at the Linz Open and Italian Open.
