Lorenzo Musetti and his partner Veronica Confalonieri enjoyed a romantic getaway amid the Italian ATP star's absence on the tour due to a thigh injury he sustained earlier this year while playing in Rome. During the getaway, Confalonieri posed in a bikini, with the lovebirds later sharing a few glimpses from their scenic escape to the seaside.

On Wednesday, July 22, Musetti and Confalonieri both shared the same post on their respective Instagram handles. It consisted of ten pictures, with several of them showing the couple sharing multiple intimate moments aboard a yacht. In them, Confalonieri could be seen wearing a high-neck bikini top. One of the pictures showed Musetti striking a playful pose with his and Confalonieri's first son, Ludovico, who was born in March 2024.

Musetti and Confalonieri became parents for a second time last year, as they welcomed their second son, Leandro, in November.

On the tennis front, the Italian ATP star, who reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5 in men's singles at the start of this season, currently finds himself outside the top 10. Much of his descent down the rankings has boiled down to a thigh injury he sustained while playing against Casper Ruud in the fourth round of the 2026 Italian Open.

Even though Musetti tried to play through the pain of the Grade II tear of his left rectus femoris, his physical struggles became quite evident as the match went on. Ultimately, Ruud won the match 6-3, 6-1, while Musetti's post-match diagnosis required the Italian to stay rested for several weeks, and this caused him to miss Roland Garros as well as the Wimbledon Championships.

At the 2026 Australian Open, Lorenzo Musetti won the first two sets of his quarterfinal showdown against Novak Djokovic. However, the Italian, at this stage of the match, had already sustained an upper right-leg injury. Trailing Djokovic 1-3 in the third set, Musetti, unable to continue playing, retired from the contest.

Later, laying bare his devastation at having to retire when leading the Serb, the Italian told reporters:

Lorenzo Musetti is expected to return to action at the upcoming Washington Open, which is scheduled to begin later this month and is one of the tournaments in the buildup to the US Open.
