A fire broke out at a vacant site near an old plastic godown, where waste materials were stored, at Ganapathy Nagar in Ariyamangalam, Tiruchi, on Tuesday.

According to Fire and Rescue Services personnel, an alert was received around 7 a.m. Following the information, around 20 firefighters with three fire tenders rushed to the spot and took nearly two hours to bring the fire under control. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

Preliminary inquiries indicated that a bush near the godown may have been set on fire, which might have spread, resulting in the old plastic materials catching fire.
