Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhogapuram on a special aircraft from Delhi at 10.45 a.m. on August 1 to inaugurate the Alluri Sitharama Raju International Airport and multiple development projects worth ₹18,000 crore.

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will receive the Prime Minister upon arrival.

At 10.58 a.m., Mr. Modi will inaugurate the terminal building and inspect the facility alongside State dignitaries. He will then proceed to a public meeting venue, where he will be welcomed by over 13,500 tribal women and students performing the Dhimsa dance. He will address the public at Bhogapuram between 11.30 a.m. and 12.55 p.m. and is scheduled to leave for Delhi at 1.10 p.m.

Reviewing the preparations, Mr. Naidu highlighted that the greenfield airport – completed in a record 31 months at a cost of ₹4,727 crore – marks a monumental milestone for the North Andhra region.

Built to LEED Platinum standards, the airport features a 5 MW solar plant, rainwater harvesting, and architectural elements inspired by the Bay of Bengal’s maritime heritage.

To build momentum, the administration has rolled out a public awareness campaign themed “Wings to the Dreams of North Andhra,” featuring elocution competitions, drone shows, and marathons to engage local communities.
