“Home Minister Priyank Kharge is giving statement about the RSS only because it ensures that he gets media space. That is why we have stopped responding to his statement. We have instructed all BJP leaders too not to respond to him,” Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said in Bagalkot on Sunday.

He was there to inaugurate a public building constructed by the Nirani Cooperative Society.

“Why do you think Priyank Kharge is going around talking about the RSS? That is because he wants to divert the people’s attention away from the failures of his department. He speaks like that to stop you from asking him questions about why the police have not stopped drug menace,” Mr. Joshi said.

“RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has once given a clear answer to Priyank Kharge’s letter and stopped responding. After that, the RSS is doing its job. We will follow suit,” he said.

“There is no need to answer to such people. No one needs to respond to him. It is very childish, no need to react. So many things have happened in the last hundred years. Organizations and parties like the BJP and the RSS have existed for several years. We do not want anyone’s permission to conduct our activities. Priyank Kharge has been talking about the need for registration for the RSS. We do not feel the need for it,” the Central Minister said.

“Let’s see what they will do,” he said.

To a question on the Home Minister’s statement that he has intelligence reports that there can be law and order disturbances after RSS meetings in the State, Mr. Joshi said that the Home Minister is at liberty to take any action based on his inputs and that no one will stop him.
