Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma’s sudden health scare has raised concern across the film industry. The incident reportedly occurred at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad while he was shooting for Prabhas' upcoming film 'Fauji,'.He was later taken to Kolkata for medical treatment.

The latest update, issued on behalf of Rajesh Sharma and his family, confirms that the actor continues to be under close medical supervision as doctors closely monitor his condition.

Sudipa Chatterjee Shares Health Update

Actress Sudipa Chatterjee shared a detailed statement on social media, informing fans about Sharma’s health. The note clarified that the incident occurred while the actor was working on a film project.

The statement read, "Rajesh Sharma suffered an insect bite- possibly from a bug or a poisonous spider- while shooting at Ramoji Film City for a film starring renowned actor Prabhas."

Incident Occurred During Shoot

According to the statement, Sharma was interacting with local technicians in a densely vegetated area when he suddenly felt a bite. Since the injury did not initially seem serious, he continued shooting and completed his work.

Condition Worsened Hours Later

However, the situation reportedly took a turn a few hours later. The note stated, "Approximately six hours later, he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg and felt unwell. Despite his worsening condition, he boarded a flight back to Kolkata."

Fever Developed During Journey

During the flight, the actor’s health reportedly deteriorated further as he developed a high fever and increasing discomfort.

Hospitalised After Reaching Kolkata

Upon arriving in Kolkata, Sharma sought immediate medical care and was admitted to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The infection is said to have spread from his toes up to his knee, with large blisters forming in the affected area, while doctors continue close monitoring and conduct further tests.

Health Complications Reportedly Linked to Insect Bite

According to earlier reports, Rajesh Sharma’s condition worsened after he was allegedly bitten by an insect during the shoot. He reportedly developed high fever, breathlessness, and severe distress, following which he was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata.

Condition Under Close Medical Supervision

Sources indicate that the actor is currently under close observation by medical professionals. His condition has also reignited conversations around workplace safety and the availability of emergency medical response systems on film sets.

AICWA Demands Probe Into Incident

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called for an immediate, transparent, and high-level investigation into the matter. The association questioned whether adequate emergency medical facilities were available on set and why the actor was not shifted to a leading hospital in Hyderabad if his condition became critical during filming.

AICWA has further urged authorities to examine whether mandatory safety, hygiene, and medical protocols were properly followed by the production team.
