New Delhi: Television actor Ram Kapoor made an emotional revelation on the latest episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, sharing for the first time that he was molested when he was 13 years old. The actor disclosed the painful memory while completing a task to avoid eviction, leaving host Farah Khan and fellow contestants in tears.

Recalling the incident, Ram said it happened when he was studying in Class 8 at a boarding school.

“When I was in the 8th standard and was 13 years old, I was molested. After school, we were sitting in the dormitory when a Class 10 student suddenly touched me under the blanket. There were 30-40 children around us, but I froze. I couldn’t do anything and he kept going,” he said.

The actor admitted he was too shocked to react immediately.

“I didn’t know whether I should stop him, stay quiet, tolerate it or scream. After some time, I finally told him I wasn’t comfortable. He stopped immediately and walked away. I became very quiet after that and was deeply traumatised,” Ram shared.

He added that the senior student apologised a few weeks later and continued to express regret whenever they met.

Ram revealed that the same person later played an unexpected role in helping him recover from the trauma.

“It sounds strange, but the person who caused my trauma also helped me heal. We eventually became good friends. This is something even my parents and my children don’t know. Only Gautami knows about it,” he said.

The actor added that speaking about the incident still brings back painful memories but said the experience never made him fearful of the LGBTQ community.

“I don’t have any fear, inhibition or negativity towards people from the LGBTQ community. That person wasn’t a bad person. We were both teenagers. He was curious and influenced by teenage hormones. He tried very hard to make things right with me. No one should ever have to go through something like this, but he did everything he could to help me overcome the trauma,” he said.

Ram’s confession left the house visibly emotional. Sufi Motiwala broke down as he recalled that he had also experienced molestation. Harshad Chopda and Dheeraj Dhoopar were also seen in tears.

An emotional Farah Khan hugged Ram and said, “I am sorry this happened to you.”

Riteish Deshmukh praised the actor for speaking openly about his experience, saying, “You are very strong. Last time you said you learnt something from me. Today, I have learnt something from you, and I am proud of you.”

The reality show has completed two weeks since its premiere and continues to generate buzz online. The latest episode also featured a double elimination. Sunita Ahuja exited the show due to health issues, while Riyaz was evicted after receiving fewer audience votes. Shreya Kalra was safe. Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa streams on Netflix from Saturday to Thursday at 8 pm.
