Mumbai: Veteran singer-composer Ram Shankar and his daughter, singer Sneha Shankar, attended the launch of Bite Media Entertainment’s first album featuring the Hanuman Chalisa, sung by Ram Shankar.
Speaking to the media at the event, the father-daughter duo shared their views on the recent student protests.
Ram Shankar said, “The legitimate demands of the youth must certainly be fulfilled. Whatever issues and difficulties the youth face regarding education should definitely be acknowledged by the government, and they have indeed acknowledged their concerns. I would just like to say that demands related to education should be addressed, and that platform should not be diverted to anything else. My request to all our youth is to exercise some restraint in their language. Everything is turning out well, and our best wishes are with them because the youth, the students, are the future of our country. Since they are the future of the nation, their legitimate demands should certainly be accepted. Everything has been addressed very nicely, and my heartfelt best wishes go out to all the youth of our country.”
Sneha echoed her father’s sentiments, saying, “Exactly as Papa said, regarding the valid points related to education, there should at least be an effort to listen to them and resolve them. I think the government is now taking positive action in this regard. We don’t want to talk about how things happened in the past, but now that people are being heard, everything is getting better, and I am happy about that.”
Apart from the album launch, Ram Shankar and Sneha also announced that they will collaborate on a new devotional series titled Bhajan Jamming, which is set to launch in August.
