New Delhi: Fresh clips from Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 have surfaced online after the film’s trailer launch was postponed, reigniting excitement among fans. The leaked footage, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Rakul Preet Singh, has prompted many viewers to urge the makers to release the official trailer instead of letting unofficial versions circulate.
The trailer was first showcased during the Pratham Sankalp event in New Delhi on July 18, following which short clips appeared online. More footage reportedly surfaced after another screening at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24.
According to reports, an X (formerly Twitter) user compiled the leaked snippets into a nearly two-minute video. While it remains unclear whether the edited version reflects the final trailer, it has generated widespread discussion on social media.
Reacting to the leaked footage, one X user claimed he “stayed awake all night waiting for the movie trailer” and expressed disappointment that “at the very last moment, they broke their promise and cancelled the trailer”. He also praised saying, “You did a great job; this is what we want.”
Another user criticised the leaked Ramayan trailer as “more like Adipurush”. He commented “…but we have to wait and watch. Ranbir in Animal has a negative impact on this movie as Ram. I didn’t get goosebumps.”
The discussion also spread to Reddit, where one user wrote, “Looks very good and promising. At least this leak is not shot on a potato camera.” Another added, “Avatar level VFX, Dialogues are good, some things need some more work. I believe they will fix it. Airavat looks so peak.”
A separate social media post criticised the leak, stating, “It’s disappointing that a film as big as #Ramayana couldn’t protect its trailer from leaking before the official release. The makers should have had stronger security measures in place. Months of hard work deserve better than an online leak.”
Producer Namit Malhotra announced on Instagram that the trailer launch had been deferred following the film’s partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment for its global rollout.
“Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date,” he wrote.
He further added, “In over 100 years of Indian cinema, this will become a moment of great pride where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film.”
Thanking fans for their continued support, Malhotra concluded, “The youth of our country are our future, let’s all do the best we can to protect our future.”
