New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor and Yash offered new insights into their upcoming film, Ramayana, at the San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Ranbir also opened up about playing Lord Ram and feared whether he is “capable enough”.

He also revealed that he is looking forward to showing the epic to his daughter Raha, which will be her first movie-watching experience on the big screen.

During the Q&A session at the San Diego Comic-Con, Ranbir revealed that one of the biggest reasons he is looking forward to the film’s release is his daughter Raha Kapoor.

When a fan spoke about introducing children to Indian epic through the film, it prompted Ranbir to say, “I’m very excited to take my daughter to the film. It is going to be her first film on the big screen.”

Speaking on the sidelines, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that when the film was first offered to him, there was “so much of fear and doubt”.

He shared, “‘Will I be able to do this, am I capable enough?’ But I think that doubt changed into gratitude very early on. I think it was a blessing, an opportunity of a lifetime, and a moral responsibility. The Ramayana is ingrained in our subconscious. Lord Rama is the conscience keeper of millions of people around the world for generations, for more than 4000 years. He is somebody who embodies the triumph of the human spirit in times of adversities. He stands for courage, compassion, forgiveness, righteousness, and just to have the opportunity to represent that is very daunting.”

He also assured fans that the makers have stayed true to the epic. “I think they are in for a treat. We have done our best. Everybody has their own imagination of this story, but one thing I can promise is that we have made an honest effort. Our intentions are in the right place, our heart is in the right place,” he added.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part adaptation of Valmiki’s epic. The film trailer was scheduled to drop at globally at the San Diego Comic Con on Friday, however, the trailer release was postponed after the team partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment for the film’s international distribution.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Yash, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Anupam Kher, and Kajal Aggarwal, among others in key roles.
