New Delhi: Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster hit, Dhurandhar, has bombed at the Japanese box office after it was released in the country on July 10.

The big-budget movies Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge collectively earned Rs 3,100 crore at the worldwide box office. However, Dhurandhar drew only 900 people to theatres in Japan on its opening day.

Aditya Dhar’s directorial was released across 80 screens in Japan. However, according to trade reports, the film did not even enter Japan’s top 25 films on its opening weekend.

On its first day, the film registered 449 admissions across 57 locations. In the second half of the day, the film failed to see any improvement in its collection. By the end of its opening day in Japan, the film’s total collection stood at only 900 across 80 locations.

This means that despite extensive promotions of the film in the country, it could not attract footfall inside the theatres.

With this, the film failed to even touch the benchmark to break into Japan’s top 10 Indian film openers.

Meanwhile, RRR remains the biggest opener in Indian films in Japan, followed by Saaho, Kalki 2898 AD, Pathaan, Salaar, Jawan, Rangasthalam, Devara, Baahubali 2, and Tiger 3.

The first Dhurandhar earned over Rs 1,307 crore globally, while Dhurandhar: The Revenge, collected Rs 1,813 crore worldwide. Together, the film minted Rs 3,019 crore.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande, the film stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor, among others.
