RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, a Liverpool target, wants to reportedly join Real Madrid, with PSG also in the fray for his services but apparently priced out by Los Blancos.
Diomande, 19, enjoyed a solid 2025-26 season with Leipzig, scoring 13 times and assisting 10 in 36 games across competitions. Most of those goal contributions - 12 goals and nine assists in 33 games - came in the Bundesliga, where Martin Demichelis' side finished third, behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Despite being contracted to the Red Bulls till 2030, the Cote d'Ivoire winger - who assisted once in four games at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America - could be on the move this summer.
As per Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Madrid and Leipzig are in the process of finalising a deal worth €120 million (including bonuses), leapfrogging the Parisians, who had agreed personal terms with the teenager.
As per Sky Sports, Madrid had an initial bid of £85.4 million turned down by Leipzig, while Liverpool aren't willing to go beyond £85 million, which would have been a record price for a teenager in the Premier League, dwarfing the £58.9m Manchester United paid Lille for Leny Yoro in 2024.
At the World Cup in North America, the PSG target provided an assist in the 2-0 group-stage win over Curacao, which confirmed the Ivory Coast's place in the knockouts, where they lost 2-1 to Norway, with Erling Haaland scoring a late winner.
The short answer is no: No Real Madrid, Liverpool or PSG player featured in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in North America, where Spain beat 10-man holders Argentina 1-0 in extra time last week, considering the club affiliations of players at the time the 26-man squads were announced.
Spain's Marc Cucurella was announced as Los Blancos' newest acquisition just before the competition started. He would go on to play all eight games for a victorious La Roja side as they won their second World Cup.
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe and midfielder Aurelien Tchoauemni were part of the France squad that lost 2-0 to eventual champions Spain in the semis. They eventually finished fourth, losing 6-4 to England in the third-place play-off.
