The Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL) has completed the installation of 50,114 rooftop solar connections with a total capacity of 180 MW under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, all of them synchronised with the power grid, its Chairman and Managing Director P. Pullareddy has said.

    Only 6,489 rooftop solar units had been installed up to April 2025, and the central discom has added 43,625 connections in the last one year, taking the total to 50,114.

    Mr. Pullareddy said daily review meetings held by officials with empanelled vendors helped resolve issues promptly, ensuring smooth installations and faster execution.

    He appreciated Director (Projects) T.V.S.N. Murthy and other senior officials for their efforts. He said the APCPDCL was committed to expanding rooftop solar under the PM Surya Ghar scheme and to helping meet the State’s renewable energy goals, while enabling consumers to cut their electricity bills through clean energy.
