The residents of Kaloha, Pragpur, Dhaliara, Dada-Siba and Sansarpur-Terrace areas of the Jaswan-Pragpur Assembly constituency in Kanga district will get all-weather road connectivity with the construction of a box girder bridge over the Nakki rivulet at a cost of Rs 21.63 crore. The bridge has been sanctioned under the NABARD funding scheme, fulfilling the long-awaited demand of the residents of the area who have been suffering during the monsoon season due to a sudden rise in the water level of the Nakki.
According to Jaswan-Pragpur MLA Bikram Thakur, he had listed this project under the MLA priority scheme of the state government and it had been sanctioned under the NABARD funding scheme. “This 210-metre long bridge will be built on the Kaloha-Pragpur-Sansarpur-Terrace Road and is a significant project for commuters and the residents of the area. This bridge will provide road connectivity that remains disrupted due to flash floods in the Nakki rivulet. It will facilitate hassle-free travel for commuters, students, traders and patients,” he claimed. The MLA said that the state government had received financial approval for the bridge project under the NABARD funding scheme. He added that the bridge would not only provide uninterrupted round-the-year traffic movement but also give impetus to economic activities and the development of the entire region. He expressed gratitude to the Central Government for giving financial approval for the construction of the bridge.
